For the past ten days I have been riding north and east through Victoria and New South Wales with the lovely Belgian cyclist Isabel. It was wonderful to have a touring buddy for a bit––we braved rainy days and frosty mornings and big puddles. Woosh!
Now Isabel is on her way back to Belgium and I’m back to being a solo female touring cyclist, just a day’s ride outside of Sydney. My rough plan now is to just ride north. Follow the warmth. I’m ready for some longer days––it can be hard to get places when the light leaves so early.
Isabel made me a watercolor cyclist. So many colors. Hello, light!
And there’s always the gum trees and the kangaroos and the red, red soil.
Colors abound. Here’s to the planet’s motion––our turning toward light.
